Solar Energy Collective plans to exclusively use non-penetrating SolarPod Crown mounting system

California solar installer Solar Energy Collective (SEC) has surpassed 250 kW of the SolarPod Crown non-penetrating sloped roof mounting system on residential and commercial installations in Northern California. Today the two companies announce plans to continue the relationship and apply the SolarPod solution on all SEC installations.

“We have been looking for a no roof penetration system for some time. As a CertainTeed supplier, we are now offering lifetime guarantee of no water leaks.  This is an industry-leading guarantee to all customers of SolarPod Crown,” said Sean Burr, president of SEC. “Not having to penetrate the roof saves a lot of labor and cost while improving reliability. We have seen significant improvements in the supply chain for this product in the few months of engagement.”

The Solar Pod Crown product uses standardized rails bracketed together and “draped” over the peak of the roof. By distributing the panel load, the system manipulates the wind to keep the panels on the roof.

“We have continued to invest in our technology and knowledge,” said Mouli Vaidyanathan, founder and designer of the SolarPod. “Our engagement with Solar Energy Collective establishes the need for our products in a higher volume market like California. We are excited about this opportunity and look forward to growing our market share.”

The SolarPod Crown has been installed in over 600 installations and is now approved in more than 60 U.S. jurisdictions.
